New Program! Civil Litigation Strategies

Developing a strong civil litigation practice takes an understanding of civil procedure and the Rules of Court, competence in advocacy, and an intentionality in employing appropriate litigation strategies. As lawyers strive for excellence in the courtroom and in pre-trial processes, they not only build their own confidence and grow their practice, they also establish a reputation among colleagues, opposing counsel, the Bench, and prospective clients. This program will support lawyers in navigating civil litigation matters and will cover topics including:

  • Understanding the theory of the case and developing an overall strategy
  • Drafting effective pleadings
  • Managing a litigation matter and moving it toward resolution
  • Overcoming litigation delay
  • Less frequently used Rules of Court (i.e. things to remember for those unusual situations)
  • Chambers Advocacy
  • Navigating ADR options

This program may be beneficial for lawyers at any stage of their careers; it is especially designed for lawyers seeking to develop excellence in the first five to seven years of their civil litigation practice.
