Judge L.K. Stevens

Judge Laura Stevens was appointed to the Edmonton Criminal Court, Provincial Court of Alberta in 2014.

Prior to her appointment, Judge Stevens practiced almost exclusively as a criminal defence lawyer for 30 years. Most of this was in Alberta, but in the last decade included a significant number of homicide cases in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.

Since northern Canada is her favourite holiday destination for long wilderness canoe trips, her northern practice remains amongst her favourite memories from practice.
