Lawyers spend much of their time communicating – to clients, to colleagues, to opposing counsel, and to decision-makers. You communicate daily in various formats, through text and email, pleadings and facta, in letters, blogs, contracts, memoranda, and in-person. Ensuring you communicate effectively, whatever the forum and audience, is critical to a successful legal practice.
This course will focus on the principles of effective communication and how to implement them to enhance your communication skills, your client and colleague relationships, and your performance. It will take approximately two hours to complete.
This course relates to lawyer-client relationships, which is one of the domains in the Law Society of Alberta’s Professional Development Profile for Alberta Lawyers.
