Heather L. McKay QC, Daunais McKay + Harms

Heather McKay practises exclusively in the area of Family Law and is recognized as a leader in her field. Her practice focuses on negotiated resolutions of complicated property and support matters. She has extensive training in dispute resolution including training as a mediator and as a collaborative law lawyer. She also has years of experience as a litigator with a long list of reported decisions to her credit. She understands the emotional and financial toll that divorce takes on her clients and their families and works closely with each client to ensure a process that works for them. Read more…


Timothy S. Chan, Daunais McKay + Harms
Timothy S. Chan received his Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary in 2020. He joined Daunais, McKay + Harms in 2019 as a summer student, and is completing his articles with an expected call date in Spring 2021. To date, he has appeared in the Alberta Provincial Court and Court of Queen’s Bench, and co-written briefs and applications for the Alberta Court of Appeal. Timothy treats his clients with empathy and respect, drawing upon his previous non-profit work in youth programs, healthcare, and indigenous self-governance. Read more…


Christopher A. Jackson, Jackson Law
Chris is currently the sole practitioner of Jackson Law. He completed three years of a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Alberta before being admitted to that university’s Faculty of Law. Graduating in 2003 with an L.L.B., Chris began practicing immediately thereafter. He was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2004, and worked for Bishop & McKenzie LLP for several years as a litigator prior to his decision to open Jackson Law. Read more…


Imogen Jenkins, Daunais McKay + Harms
Imogen joined DM+H in May 2018 after completing her Juris Doctor at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC. Imogen discovered her passion for the law while working as a Legal Assistant at a large full-service firm in Edmonton, AB while completing her Bachelor of Arts degree. Imogen believes that family disputes are best solved by cooperative, collaborative, and non-adversarial means. Having said that, Imogen is comfortable in the courtroom having appeared at the Provincial Court, the Court of Queen’s Bench and the Court of Appeal. Read more…


Emily Koch, Daunais McKay + Harms
Emily joined Daunais, McKay + Harms in the summer of 2018 as a Student at Law after graduating from the Juris Doctor program at the University of Calgary. Throughout her time at UCalgary Law, she found many opportunities to enhance her knowledge of family law issues. Emily spent a summer working as a summer student with Student Legal Assistance (SLA), which allowed her to assist low income clients with a variety of family law issues including parenting, guardianship, and child support. Katherine Palmer, Strathcona Law Group
Katherine Palmer was admitted to practice in Alberta in 2011.  She has a general practice including family law, general civil and commercial litigation, real estate, wills and estates and bankruptcy and insolvency matters. Katherine obtained a BA (Hons) with First Class Honours in history from the University of Alberta in 2004 and graduated with an LLB (with distinction) from the University of Alberta in 2009.  Katherine was the recipient of the Horace Harvey Medal as the top student in her law school graduating class.
