Notice to the Profession: Court Case Management (“CCM”) Now Incudes Contested Receivership Applications

The Court of King’s Bench of Alberta has announced that all eligible receivership hearing requests must now be submitted through the Court Case Management (“CCM”) digital service.

Effective April 1, 2024, this change will be implemented in Calgary and Edmonton, and will include any new hearing requests on already existing commercial matters. The CCM will be available for eligible commercial matters through originating application.

Matters eligible for CCM filing must meet the following requirements:

  • The hearing request must be for or related to receivership
  • The matter must not be confidential
  • The hearing must be heard in Calgary or Edmonton
  • The matter must not be on a bankruptcy file

The CCM is only available to lawyers in Alberta. For CCM bookings to be processed, counsel must submit a confirming letter via email within 24 hours of the booking request to the appropriate court coordinator.

For more information on how to create a CCM account, read the user instructions here.  Please read the complete notice to the profession here.
