Job Posting: Communications Student

We are seeking to fill the role of Communications Student, based in Edmonton. This position reports to the Brand & Communications Coordinator. This is a 10 to 20 hour per week contract position with an immediate start date. There is an option to work in the office or remotely. Hours may be increased to full-time during the summer months (at the student’s request).

THE ROLE

As LESA’s Communications Student, you will be expected to provide support to the Brand & Communications Coordinator through the following job duties:

  • Draft, edit, and post articles, e-marketing, blog entries, social media posts, and other communications pieces
  • Collect data related to marketing and communications for use in future planning
  • Execute communications plans, including sending direct marketing pieces and assisting with print mailings
  • Develop visually appealing and informative PowerPoint presentations to market LESA offerings
  • Ensure LESA’s marketing and communications follow the communications calendar, including print mailings, e-marketing, blogs, and social media
  • Maintain marketing lists (e-mail, mailing addresses, etc.) for existing and targeted and segmented customer groups
  • Update LESA.org and the LESA online store, including creating and publishing product pages, event pages, blog posts, and other LESA.org landing pages
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Education

  • At least one year of post-secondary education in communications or marketing

Characteristics

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Experience with WooCommerce and WordPress
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (InDesign, Photoshop) is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills (including organizing competing priorities)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team-oriented and self-motivated
  • High level of integrity and accountability
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Commitment to lifelong learning, development, and self-improvement; willingness to develop technical knowledge and skills
