The new Alberta Rules of Court, which come into effect on November 1, 2010, have prescribed a number of forms and introduced many procedural changes for the Court of Queen’s Bench. Law Society of Alberta Honours Lawyers
Each year, The Law Society of Alberta recognizes lawyers with 30 years of service, and also commemorates lawyers with 50 and 60 years of legal service. For the first time in its 103 year history the Law Society recognized a member who has practised law for 70 consecutive years, Maclean (Mac) Everett Jones Q.C. of Calgary. A reception marking the occasion took place November 24th, 2010
The Law Society also recognized 60 Years of Service by Gerald M. Burden Q.C., as well as, 50 Years of Service by Theodore L. Babie; Arthur M. Davis Q.C.; Donald T.D. Hatch Q.C.; Raymond F. Kutz; Robbert G. Roddie Q.C.; the Honourable Judge R.A. Jacobson; and Stanley S. Schumacher Q.C. at a lunch on November 25th, 2010.
