“Sharpening the Saw”: Improvement in Legal Skills Through Continuing Legal Education
This paper highlights the importance of taking advantage of technological tools in order to stay informed of legal developments. Lawyers face the difficult task of remaining up to date in an ever changing field, and the use of technological resources can be invaluable for continuing professional development [CPD]. This paper sets out a number of resources for lawyers to enrich their CPD, including firm-based, external, and other forms of continuing legal education. The paper also includes a comparison of CPD requirements for lawyers across Canada.
This paper is part of a collection presented at LESA’s 50th Annual Refresher in Lake Louise from May 7–9th, 2017.
