The Alberta Rules of Court Amendment Regulation, 2014 was published as an Order in Council on March 12, 2014. It amends Part 14 of the Rules of Court, A.R. 124/2010 by adding appeal rules.
The Rules of Court A.R. 124/2010, of course, came into effect in 2010 without rules applicable to appeals in Alberta. While we have been waiting on new appellate rules, the “old rules” (A.R. 390/1968 ) on appeals have continued in force.
The new appellate rules will come into effect September 1, 2014.
